Product description

Yellow daffodils sized for a balcony pot

Tête-à-Tête is a dwarf daffodil with yellow flowers rising above slender green leaves. Its outer petals look slightly lighter than the yellow cup in the centre. It makes an attractive addition to a pot near the entrance or the front of a border.

Hedera's pack contains 7 bulbs of the same Tête-à-Tête variety, imported from the Netherlands, rather than a mix. The variety reaches around 20 cm in suitable conditions and suits pots and small gardens. The number of flowers from each bulb may vary; the pack contains 7 bulbs, not a guaranteed number of flowers. Its botanical name is Narcissus 'Tête-à-tête'. Flowering time depends on the weather and growing conditions. With suitable care, the bulbs may flower again in later seasons, although the same flowering performance is not guaranteed.

From bulb to bloom

  • Plant in autumn or when the weather starts to become milder and cooler, in sun or light shade and well-drained soil.
  • Position the pointed end upwards, at a depth of roughly three times the bulb's height. Space the bulbs so they do not touch. For container growing, use a deep pot with drainage holes.
  • Water thoroughly after planting. Then water during dry periods while the plants are growing if rainfall is insufficient. Monitor moisture in pots and avoid standing water.
  • After flowering, remove faded flowers and leave the leaves to turn yellow and dry naturally. Do not cut them back early.

What you receive: A Hedera pack of 7 Tête-à-Tête daffodil bulbs for ornamental use only. Bulbs are harmful if eaten; keep them away from children and pets. Wear gloves if you have sensitive skin.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a tall or dwarf daffodil? It is a dwarf variety, reaching around 20 cm in suitable conditions.

Does each bulb produce one flower? There is no fixed, guaranteed number of flowers per bulb.

Can I plant all seven in one pot? Yes, provided the pot is large and deep enough, has drainage holes and allows the bulbs to be spaced without touching.

Will it grow in shade? Choose a sunny position or light shade, avoiding deep shade and waterlogged soil.

Does it need chilling in the refrigerator? There is no automatic recommendation to refrigerate it as with some tulip packs. Plant it in season and ask Hedera for guidance on this batch if needed.

Will it flower again? It may flower again in a suitable position with good drainage if the leaves are left to dry naturally, but the same number of flowers is not guaranteed.
