Product description

Offered through a special collaboration between Magic Seed and Hedera, these seeds produce Ananas Net melon, known for its distinctive netted rind, orange flesh and sweet aromatic flavour that combines traditional melon notes with a hint of pineapple. Suitable for home gardens, greenhouses and outdoor growing in Jordan, this variety performs well in warm areas with good sun exposure. The vigorous plants produce uniform fruit with appropriate watering and feeding. Each pack contains 30 carefully selected seeds for high quality and excellent germination when growing recommendations are followed.

How to grow

Starting seedlings

In many areas of Jordan, starting melon seedlings is preferred to obtain strong plants and reduce losses during germination. Sow in seed trays filled with a light, well-drained growing medium, maintaining moderate moisture and a suitable temperature. Transplant to the final growing position at the 3–4 true-leaf stage, leaving enough space between plants.

Direct sowing

Direct sowing can be used in warm areas with stable weather. Sow at a shallow depth in well-prepared soil rich in organic matter and water regularly until seedlings emerge.

When to plant

In Jordan, sow Ananas Net melon seeds in spring after the risk of frost has passed. Earlier planting is possible in greenhouses. Timing varies by region and elevation. Avoid planting in cold or unsettled weather.

Plant care

Choose a fully sunny location for good fruit set and quality. Water regularly without drought stress or waterlogging, especially during flowering and fruit formation. Use a balanced feeding programme, focusing on potassium during fruit growth to improve flavour and sweetness. Reduce watering before full ripeness to help concentrate sugars in the fruit.

Harvesting

Harvest Ananas Net melons when fully ripe, indicated by their distinctive aroma and a change in rind colour. Timely picking gives the best flavour and quality.
