Product description

A flower combining the warmth of red with the brightness of yellow

World Peace tulips have reddish-orange flowers with soft yellow edges. Each Hedera pack contains 6 bulbs of the same variety, imported from the Netherlands and packed locally. This is not a mixed-colour pack. Suitable for garden beds and pots with good drainage.

This variety belongs to the Darwin Hybrid group. Its botanical name is Tulipa 'World Peace'. It reaches approximately 60 cm in suitable conditions. Flowering time varies with seasonal temperatures, planting location and care.

Planting and care

  • Plant when the weather and soil cool down in late autumn or winter, in a sunny position with freely draining soil.
  • Place the pointed end upwards, approximately 10–15 cm deep, leaving 7–10 cm between bulbs.
  • Water after planting, then moderately as the soil dries. Avoid standing water in the pot.
  • After flowering, remove faded flowers and leave the leaves until they turn yellow and dry naturally. Flowering again the following season is not guaranteed.

Chilling: Tulips need an appropriate period of cold. If the bulbs in this batch have not been pre-chilled and your planting location does not provide enough cold, refrigerating them for 6–10 weeks in a well-ventilated paper bag away from fruit may help. Plant immediately after removing them. Please check the chilling status of this batch before planting.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a mixed-colour pack? No. It contains only the World Peace variety, with reddish-orange flowers and yellow edges. The multicoloured planting-guide image is illustrative and does not show the colours included in the pack.

Can I grow them in pots? Yes. Use a relatively deep pot with drainage holes and allow for the recommended planting depth and spacing.

When should I plant them in Jordan? When the weather and soil cool down in late autumn or winter. Timing varies by region, season and whether the bulbs have been pre-chilled.

Will they flower again? They may grow again, but the strength of flowering is not guaranteed. It depends on winter temperatures, drainage and care.

What you receive: A pack of 6 bulbs for ornamental use only. Not edible. Keep away from children and pets.
