Product description

Small narcissus flowers clustered along the stem

Minnow is a compact narcissus with upright green leaves and pale creamy petals surrounding yellow cups. A stem may carry several small flowers, creating a cheerful display by an entrance or in a balcony pot without needing a large bed.

This Hedera pack contains 7 Minnow narcissus bulbs imported from the Netherlands, all the same variety rather than a mix. Plants reach around 20 cm in suitable conditions and suit pots and the front of flower beds.

Botanical name: Narcissus 'Minnow', also described as Narcissus tazetta 'Minnow', from the Tazetta group. A stem may carry up to around five small flowers in favourable conditions, but this is not a guaranteed flower count per bulb. The pack contains 7 bulbs. The yellow cups may fade as flowers age, and fragrance intensity varies with conditions and individual perception.

Planting and care

  1. Plant in autumn as the weather moderates and the soil cools. Choose sun or light shade and well-drained soil.
  2. Set the pointed end upwards. Cover the bulbs with soil around one-and-a-half to twice the height of the bulb, depending on its size, and leave suitable spacing.
  3. For pots, choose a deep container with drainage holes. Group bulbs closely without letting them touch.
  4. Water after planting, then according to soil dryness. Avoid standing water.
  5. Remove faded flower heads but leave the leaves until they yellow and dry naturally. The bulbs may return the next season, although the same flowering strength is not guaranteed.

What you receive

A Hedera pack of 7 Minnow narcissus bulbs for ornamental use. Bulbs are harmful if eaten and may irritate skin. Keep away from children and pets and do not mix with edible bulbs. Gloves are recommended for sensitive skin.

Are all the bulbs Minnow?
Yes. This is a single-variety pack, not a mix.

Does every bulb produce five flowers?
Not necessarily. This describes the variety's potential rather than a guaranteed flower count.

Is it suitable for a balcony pot?
Yes, with sufficient depth, drainage holes, and sun or light shade.

Is it fragrant?
It is described as fragrant, but scent strength varies and is not guaranteed.

When should I cut the leaves?
Wait until they yellow and dry naturally so they can help replenish the bulb for the next season.
