Product description

A spring display in more than one colour

This value pack contains 12 mixed tulip bulbs for a varied spring display: bright yellow, purple, pink and warm combinations of red, orange and yellow. Plant as a group in a bed or divide among wide pots to enjoy different flower sizes and flowering times. Suitable for home gardens and bright balconies, the blooms can also be enjoyed as cut flowers.

Botanical description: Tulipa species and cultivars. The pack lists five varieties: Golden Parade in yellow, Purple Prince in purple, Lady van Eijk in pink, Banja Luka in yellow streaked with red, and World Peace in reddish orange with a soft yellow edge. There are 12 bulbs in total; the number of each variety is not specified. The varieties belong to different horticultural groups and should not all be described as Darwin Hybrids.

Where to plant in Jordan

Choose a sunny position with well-drained soil. Plant in autumn or early winter after the weather and soil cool. Use a flower bed or a wide, deep pot with drainage holes. Arrange bulbs in groups rather than a single row, leaving space so they do not touch. Flowering periods may overlap or follow one another according to variety, cold exposure and light; all five colours are not guaranteed to open on the same day.

Planting and care

  1. Prepare loose, well-drained soil. For pots, ensure drainage holes are open and do not leave water in the saucer.
  2. Plant pointed end upwards, around 10–15 cm deep in the ground, with about 8–10 cm between bulbs. Allow sufficient container depth for bulbs and roots. Divide the 12 bulbs among several pots if needed.
  3. Water after planting to settle the soil. Monitor moisture during growth and avoid waterlogging, particularly in heavy soil or poorly drained pots.
  4. After flowering, remove faded blooms and leave foliage until it yellows naturally. Repeat flowering varies with winter cold and growing conditions and may not match the first season.

Tulips need sufficient cold for good flowering. The bulbs are pre-chilled and ready for direct planting.

Tulip bulbs are ornamental and must not be eaten. Wear gloves if your skin is sensitive, and keep bulbs away from children and pets.
