Product description

Four daffodil personalities in one pack

Why choose one colour when you can grow a whole spring display? The Narcissus Mix saver pack combines 14 bulbs of small daffodil varieties with different characteristics: white with a yellow centre, soft yellow and bright yellow. Grouped in a bed or wide pot, they reveal attractive differences in flower size, cup shape and colour rather than a repeated row of identical blooms. Their short stature suits path edges, balconies and patios, where their details can be enjoyed close up.

English name: Narcissus Mix / Daffodil Mix. The varieties listed on the pack label are Narcissus 'Canaliculatus', Narcissus 'Minnow', Narcissus 'Sun Disc' and Narcissus 'Tête-à-Tête'. Canaliculatus has white petals with a yellow cup; Minnow bears small creamy-white flowers with a pale yellow centre; Sun Disc petals change from pale yellow to cream around a yellow disc; and Tête-à-Tête adds bright yellow. Some of these varieties are fragrant. Flower details and stem height vary with the variety and growing conditions. The pack contains 14 bulbs in total.

Where and how to plant in Jordan

Plant narcissus after soil temperatures fall in autumn, in sun or light shade and well-drained soil. Arrange the bulbs along the front of a flower bed or group them in a wide pot with drainage holes. For a natural look, plant in visually connected small groups rather than a straight row, leaving real space between bulbs for roots to grow. Varieties in the mix may begin flowering at different times, so do not expect them all to open on the same day.

  1. Prepare loose, well-drained soil or a suitable potting mix in a container with holes in the base.
  2. Plant with the pointed end upwards, at a depth of approximately three times the bulb's height in the ground. In seasonal pots, they can be planted slightly shallower without touching, then moved into the ground at a suitable depth after the display if you wish to keep them.
  3. Water after planting to moisten the soil, then maintain moderate moisture while growing. Do not leave standing water beneath the pot. Ground plantings usually need no extra irrigation if rainfall is sufficient, but check the soil during dry spells.
  4. After flowers fade, remove the dry heads and leave the foliage to yellow naturally; it helps the bulbs store food for the following season.

Safety note: Narcissus bulbs are ornamental and must not be eaten. Wear gloves if your skin is sensitive and keep bulbs away from children and pets.

Frequently asked questions

How many bulbs are in the pack? 14 mixed narcissus bulbs in one pack for 5.5 JOD.

Which varieties are included? Canaliculatus, Minnow, Sun Disc and Tête-à-Tête, as listed on the pack label. The number of bulbs of each variety is not documented.

Are all the flowers yellow? No. The mix combines white with a yellow cup, cream, pale yellow and bright yellow. The flowering image illustrates the idea of the mix, while each bulb's flower colour depends on its variety and stage of flowering.

Will all four varieties flower together? Their flowering periods may overlap, but there is no fixed day or guaranteed synchronisation. Flowering depends on the variety, cold, light and planting site.

Is the mix suitable for pots and balconies? Yes, the varieties are relatively small, but a pack of 14 bulbs needs a wide pot with good drainage or several pots. Do not squeeze all the bulbs into a narrow container.

When should I plant them in Jordan? In autumn, after the weather becomes milder and soil temperatures fall. Flowers usually appear in spring, with timing varying between regions and seasons.

How deep should I plant narcissus? In the ground, approximately three times the bulb's height, pointed end upwards. In a seasonal pot, bulbs can be arranged closer and slightly shallower, provided drainage remains good and the bulbs do not touch.

Can they flower again? Yes, if the foliage is left to yellow and the bulbs receive suitable conditions. Remove faded flowers and do not cut the leaves while green.
