Product description

Three colours in one spring container

Hyacinth Mix gives you 3 bulbs in different colours for a fragrant spring display. From warm pink tones to the blue and peach shades shown in the assortment images, neighbouring flower clusters brighten a balcony or entrance. Actual shades may appear lighter or darker depending on lighting and flowering stage.

This Hedera pack contains 3 mixed hyacinth bulbs imported from the Netherlands. Grow them together in a wide pot with space between bulbs, or in separate pots placed near one another. The square flowering image illustrates a larger group of hyacinths: the actual pack contains 3 bulbs only, not all the plants pictured.

Botanical description: Hyacinthus orientalis cultivars. “Mix” describes an assortment of varieties or colours, not a single named cultivar. Small flowers form upright clusters surrounded by green leaves. Cluster length, density and flowering time can vary between colours and growing conditions; the bulbs may not all open on the same day.

Planting and care

  1. Plant in autumn after the weather moderates and the soil cools. Choose sun or light shade and loose, well-drained soil. Avoid waterlogged areas.
  2. Set each bulb pointed end upwards, about 10 cm deep, leaving at least 7–8 cm between bulbs in the ground. Cover with soil, then water to settle it.
  3. For containers, use a deep pot with drainage holes and a suitable bulb-growing mix. Space bulbs apart or divide them between two pots. Keep in a bright position and water moderately as needed, avoiding standing water.
  4. These bulbs are intended for their natural spring flowering season. Do not assume they have been specially prepared for early indoor flowering.
  5. After flowering, remove faded stems and leave the leaves until they yellow naturally. Reduce watering during dormancy. Flower clusters may be less dense in later seasons.

There is no guaranteed number of flower clusters or single flowering date for the mix.

What you receive

A Hedera pack of 3 mixed hyacinth bulbs for ornamental use, not flowering plants. Bulbs are not edible and may irritate skin. Keep away from children and pets and wear gloves if your skin is sensitive.

Frequently asked questions

Are all bulbs the same colour?
No. This is a mix of 3 bulbs in different colours. Screen colours may differ from the actual flowers.

Does the flowering image show the pack contents?
It is illustrative. You receive 3 bulbs only.

Will all the colours flower together?
Flowering time may vary slightly. Similar growing conditions can help bring their flowering periods closer together.

Can all 3 go in one pot?
Yes, if it is wide and deep enough, with drainage holes and spacing between bulbs. Alternatively, divide them between two pots.

Are mixed hyacinths fragrant?
Hyacinths are known for fragrant flowers, although scent strength varies between cultivars and with flowering stage and ventilation.

Can they flower early indoors?
This usually requires specially prepared bulbs and treatment. Grow these in their natural season; a pot may be brought indoors as flowering approaches.
