Growing guide

• Sowing period: January–June.
• Sowing: Sow one seed per plug cell; direct sowing into final pots is preferred.
• Germination: 7–14 days at 72–77°F (22–25°C). Seeds require light; cover lightly with vermiculite after sowing.
• Growing on: Continue at 60–65°F (16–18°C). Feed weekly with a balanced fertiliser supplying 150–200 ppm nitrogen.
• Medium: Well-drained, containing 15–30% clay and 1.5–2 kg/m³ balanced fertiliser. Ideal pH: 5.5–6.0.
• Temperature: Plants grow best at 18–20°C, reducing to 16°C towards the end of production. Avoid temperatures below 16°C for healthy growth.
• Feeding: Use moderate fertiliser levels and add magnesium sulphate to prevent magnesium deficiency. Use chelated iron if iron deficiency occurs.
