Agro-Nuron is a non-systemic insecticide and insect growth regulator containing lufenuron at 5% w/v. It acts mainly by ingestion and also has contact activity, targeting insect larvae, particularly lepidopteran larvae.

Agro-Nuron EC inhibits the formation of chitin required for the insect's exoskeleton, disrupting moulting and normal larval growth and causing death. It gives the best results when applied early in an infestation to young larvae.

Mode of Action

After larvae are exposed through feeding or contact, lufenuron inhibits the synthesis of chitin needed to form the outer covering. Larvae cannot complete moulting or progress normally to the next stage, so development stops and they die.

Agro-Nuron is not a rapid-knockdown insecticide. Some larvae may remain visible after spraying while their growth and development are gradually disrupted.
