Product description

Benzomectin EC

Benzomectin is a non-systemic agricultural insecticide with translaminar movement through leaf tissues. It acts by contact and ingestion to help control a range of larvae and insect pests on vegetable and field crops.

It contains emamectin benzoate at 5% w/v. Its contact, stomach and translaminar action helps control Tuta absoluta, leafminers and chewing larvae on registered vegetable and field crops, in accordance with the pack label.

Key Features

  • Effective against larvae and leafminers.
  • Helps control tomato leafminer, Tuta absoluta.
  • Contact and stomach action.
  • Moves through leaf tissues.
  • Reduces larval feeding after exposure.
  • Suitable for a range of vegetable and field crops.
  • Available in 250 ml and 1 L packs.

Target Crops and Pests

Use in accordance with the pack instructions to control Tuta absoluta and leafminers on tomatoes, certain larvae affecting peppers and aubergines, cutworms on cotton, and cabbage caterpillars and diamondback moth on cabbage and cauliflower.

Rate and Application

The table on the pack lists rates of around 4–7 ml per 20 L of water for certain uses, depending on the crop and pest. Follow the rate and pre-harvest interval registered for the target crop, and cover leaves and affected parts evenly with the spray mixture.

For best results, apply at the start of an infestation and against young larvae. Do not use a single rate for all crops without referring to the pack label or the recommendation of a qualified agricultural engineer.
