Product description

Offered through a special collaboration between Magic Seed and Hedera, these seeds produce Round Charleston watermelon, with a pale green rind, evenly rounded shape and delicious red flesh. Suitable for home gardens and small farms, this variety is known for its consistent size and shape under appropriate growing conditions. Each pack contains 30 carefully selected seeds for high quality and germination.

How to grow

Direct sowing

This variety is usually sown directly in the ground. Sow at a shallow depth in well-prepared soil, leaving appropriate spacing between planting positions to give the vines room to spread. Maintain moderate soil moisture after sowing until seedlings begin to emerge.

Starting seedlings

Seedlings can be started in some growing systems. Sow in suitable trays or containers, then transplant the developed seedlings to their final growing position, allowing enough space for healthy growth.

When to plant

Plant Round Charleston watermelon during warm periods of the year, after cold spells and frost have passed. Exact dates vary by region and should be determined by the grower or an agricultural specialist according to local weather conditions.

Plant care

The plants need good direct daylight for strong growth and high-quality fruit. Water regularly without overwatering and provide good soil drainage. Use a balanced feeding programme suited to the soil type and growing system. Check the plants regularly for pests, diseases or other problems and address them as needed.

Harvesting

Harvest fully ripe fruit when it reaches the appropriate colour and texture. Timely harvesting helps achieve the best quality and flavour.
